Onyx Faceted Glass Vase in Smoked Grey Finish

A Vase Shaped by Angles, Not Curves

The Onyx Faceted Glass Vase breaks from the rounded, organic forms typical of most decorative vessels in favour of a distinctly angular, geometric silhouette. Its tall, tapered body is constructed from a series of irregular flat facets that meet at sharp, precise edges, giving the piece a crystalline, almost gem-cut quality. Rather than a single smooth curve, the eye is drawn across multiple distinct planes, each one catching and reflecting light slightly differently depending on the viewing angle.

Cast in a smoked grey tone, the glass carries soft marbled swirls throughout its body, deepening toward a darker charcoal base and lightening toward the upper facets. This gradient effect, combined with the faceted cut, gives the vase a genuinely atmospheric quality — closer in feeling to a mineral or storm cloud than to a typical glass vessel.

Why a Faceted, Smoked Finish Adds Depth to a Room

Smoked and tinted glass behaves very differently from clear glass in a room. Rather than disappearing into the background, it introduces a quiet sense of depth and shadow, absorbing and diffusing light rather than passing it through cleanly. Combined with the faceted cut, the Onyx vase creates a layered visual effect: each flat plane reflects light at a slightly different intensity, so the piece appears to shift subtly between lighter and darker tones as the viewer moves around it.

This makes the vase particularly effective in interiors that lean toward moodier, more atmospheric styling — dark or muted wall colours, matte black hardware, textured neutral fabrics — where the vase’s smoked tone and marbled swirl pattern feel like a natural extension of the room’s palette rather than a competing accent.

Why Choose the Onyx Vase

The Onyx vase works as much as a sculptural object as it does a functional vessel. Its bold geometric form holds visual weight even when left empty, making it a strong standalone accent on a console, shelf, or side table. When used with florals or foliage, the smoked tone and angular base provide a grounded, moody contrast against lighter, softer stems — particularly effective with dried grasses, dark foliage, or minimal single-stem arrangements that don’t compete with the vase’s own visual presence.

Its solid, wide base also gives it a genuinely stable footing, meaning the piece reads as substantial and grounded rather than delicate, despite being made of glass.

Care Instructions

1. Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth, paying attention to the recessed angles between facets where dust can settle.
2. Clean with warm, soapy water and a soft cloth or sponge; a bottle brush can help reach the interior.
3. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely to avoid water spots, which can be more visible against the smoked tone.
4. For mineral deposits or residue, soak the affected area in a mixture of equal parts white vinegar and water, then rinse thoroughly.
5. Avoid abrasive scrubbers or scouring pads, which can dull or scratch the glass surface.
6. Handle with both hands when moving, supporting from the base rather than lifting by a single facet or edge.

Does the marbled swirl pattern vary between individual pieces?
Some natural variation in the swirl pattern and tone is common with cast glass — confirm with your production team whether this applies and update this answer accordingly.
